Our client, a beautiful and first class resort property in Canada requires the services of an outstanding Director Conference Services and Events for their very well known luxury property. The ideal candidate’s responsibilities are to ensure that Conference Services are delivered at the highest of standards and Resort goals. This position would have a number of key individuals reporting to them. The responsibilities of the Director will be to lead the Conference Services and events department of the resort and be able to manage and execute short and long term planning based on budgeted sales and profits and exceed these if possible. He/she must be an excellent leader who will be able to train and supervise the team and build long-term customer relationships which will enable achievement of sales objectives. He/she must be able to develop and implement effective marketing plans. He/she must be able to work with Conference Services staff, in order to solicit and book functions, plan, merchandising and execution of functions. Requirements: Our client requires a candidate who has a minimum of 5 years of luxury resort/hotel Catering/Conference Services experience, of which 3 years should have been in a senior role. He/she should hold a CMP designation or in the process of getting one. He/she must be an excellent communicator in both written and verbal skills in English and must have a good knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as having experience with a PMS and sales program If you think you are a candidate who has all these requirements plus also possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and able to work with all partners then this job is for you. Salary compensation is in the $85,000 range plus participation in an excellent incentive bonus plan plus an attractive package of additional company benefits.
