Commercial Sales Manager - Calgary Rinnai America Corporation, a leader in tankless water heating, is seeking a Commercial Sales Manager to expand our commercial business segment in Calgary, Alberta. What does a Commercial Sales Manager do at Rinnai? The Commercial Sales Manager will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Distribution teams to drive growth across applied and commercial product lines, combining strategic sales responsibilities with technical expertise. Manage a territory in Calgary, Alberta. Travel up to 75% within the territory. Leverage technical knowledge to sell Rinnai commercial water heating and hydronic systems. Execute regional sales strategies in new construction and retrofit markets. Identify mechanical system improvements across verticals such as property management, hospitality, education, and healthcare. Maintain active bid funnels in Salesforce CRM and meet close rate targets. Provide technical assessments, equipment recommendations, and site reviews. Support field product performance issues with Engineering and Technical Services. Manage distribution quotes and bid-spec relationships. Educate and train contractors, engineers, and channel partners. Communicate market trends, competitive intelligence, and product innovations. Coordinate with internal teams to align on goals and opportunities. Ensure compliance with internal expense reporting and travel budgeting. Engage in ongoing professional development through Rinnai LMS. Requirements Knowledge Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or related field; MBA or equivalent experience is an asset. 7+ years of proven success in commercial sales, specification, and solution-based selling. Strong technical knowledge of hydronics, plumbing, electrical systems, gas piping, and system controls. Skilled in reading architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals. Demonstrated success with complex projects and strong problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred). Experience with large commercial accounts such as municipalities and property management. Willing to travel within the region and reside in the designated territory. Skills Proven commercial and technical sales success with strong close rates. Negotiation, influence, and relationship management across contractors, engineers, and end‑users. Effective presentation skills for technical and non‑technical audiences. Project and time management in complex, cross‑functional environments. Technical understanding of commercial hot water, hydronic, and HVAC systems. Proficiency in reading specifications and proposing tailored solutions. Data analysis, reporting, and strategic decision‑making skills. Proficiency in Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Office, and other sales tools. Market awareness and industry insight. Collaborative team player supporting sales and customer success.
