Hays is partnered with an award-winning Calgary-based land developer and residential home builder. They have been creating innovative and successful communities across the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area for almost 30 years. At the present time they are positioned for their next growth phase with a multi-year land base, strong financial resources, and an exceptional management team, with that they are looking to hire a technically minded Intermediate Architectural Technologist to join their Design team. * this is an in office role, with flexibility (dog friendly office) Responsibilities: Produce accurate, lot-specific construction drawings using AutoCAD, based on standard plans, customer selections, and site constraints Prepare full drawing packages including site plans, plot plans, and working drawings for permit submission Coordinate with internal teams (construction, sales, estimating) and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation Ensure drawings comply with local building codes, bylaws, and municipal requirements Maintain and update plan libraries and drafting standards to ensure consistency across projects Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in drafting/ design in wood frame construction Strong understanding of the local building codes and current land use bylaws for Calgary Solid understanding of the residential construction processes, building materials, permit processes, etc. Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
