The Opportunity Joining Novamera at this critical stage of commercialization, you will play a key role in ensuring that Surgical Mining™ systems are technically ready and perform reliably in the field. This role is hands-on and execution-focused; you will act as the technical system owner during the commissioning of our integrated hardware suite. Roles and Responsibilities System Ownership: Act as the technical lead for the on-site commissioning of Novamera’s proprietary hardware, including the Positioning Control System (PCS) , Course Correction Device (CCD) , and Down-hole Imaging Tool . Subsystem Integration: Support integration across electrical, electronic, control, automation, and hydraulic subsystems to ensure the "Surgical" precision of the rig. Third-party vendors and OEMs: Coordinate and review engineering deliverables from third-party vendors and OEMs. Testing & Validation: Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), equipment performance testing, and integrated system testing at site. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve system-level anomalies or degradation trends during early operations. Continuous Improvement: Capture lessons learned to support the scaling of engineering and commissioning practices for global deployment. Safety & Risk: Escalate technical risks when system integrity or safe operation is uncertain. Position Requirements Residency: Must reside in and be legally authorized to work in Canada. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering. Experience: 10+ years in industrial systems, mining, or heavy equipment environments. Field Expertise: Demonstrated experience in commissioning, start-up, or field troubleshooting of complex equipment. Technical Proficiency: Practical experience with Control Systems (PLCs, HMIs), Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic systems, and Hydraulic/Fluid power equipment. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Mobility: Willingness to travel and work on-site during commissioning and operations (approx. 30–50%).
