As a Senior Data Scientist in the Advanced Analytics and Modelling team at Canadian Tire Corporation, you will support the development of machine learning and other mathematical models and solutions in the areas of pricing and promotional optimization, loyalty incentive curation and optimization, as well as enterprise price-value scenario orchestration engines. This role is critical to the execution of CTC's True North strategy. What You'll Do Develop a deep understanding of our Retail business, Loyalty and Credit Card Customers, and Marketing programs. Develop, implement and document advanced quantitative and statistical models on retail, customer and loyalty data to build solutions and generate timely insights. Build and deploy Machine Learning/Deep Learning models which can adapt to constantly evolving data and problem sets. Scope and structure data science projects while considering business needs and technical constraints. Perform advanced quantitative and statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations for critical business decisions. Provide creative solutions, recommendations, and timely advice that align business needs with analytical/modelling concepts. Establish necessary data pipelines to deploy AI/ML solutions. Act as an active contributor to the Advanced Analytics and Modelling team and the broader analytics community at CTC. What You Bring Graduate degree (PhD preferred) in Statistics/Math/Economics/Engineering/Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline. 3+ years experience developing and implementing data science solutions for retail businesses or loyalty programs. Familiarity with optimization methods including Linear Programming and Mixed Integer Programming related algorithms and tools such as Simplex, Gurobi, Hexaly, etc. Strong background in statistics, optimization, mathematical modelling and machine learning required. Advanced proficiency with Python as an analytical tool and programming language. 3+ years of experience querying and analyzing large datasets with tools such as SQL, Spark, etc. Familiarity with cloud-based data structures including Databricks and Azure Synapse (asset). 3+ years interpreting, synthesizing, and presenting complex models and analysis to business partners. Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong presentation skills. Compensation The typical hiring range is between $32.82 per hour and $54.34 per hour.
