As an intern, you’ll gain hands‑on experience, learn from industry experts, and contribute to real‑world projects.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and maintenance of enterprise data catalogues (metadata capture, definitions, lineage and ownership)Work with data stewards and data owners to document data elements, business rules, and data quality considerationsPrepare presentations, status updates, and supporting materials for the Data Governance Council and related forumsSupport projects to ingest and onboard new data sources by coordinating metadata requirements and documenting source‑to‑target detailsUse SQL and/or Python to assist with metadata profiling, basic analysis, and validation to support cataloging and data quality effortsHaving fun while learning a ton and contributing to 407 ETR’s data maturity transformation!QualificationsCurrently enrolled in a university/college program (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, Data/Analytics, Business, or related)Working knowledge of SQL; Python is an asset (for analysis, automation, and/or data profiling)Interest in data governance, data management, and how organizations use data to make decisionsExposure to cloud data environments (AWS preferred) and foundational understanding of databases and data conceptsStrong attention to detail and ability to document processes, definitions, and standards clearlyStrong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working with both technical teams and business stakeholdersComfortable working with multiple business lines (e.g., Revenue Optimization, Business Strategy, HR, Finance) and balancing competing prioritiesStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with an interest in improving data quality and consistencyBenefitsHands‑on experience in a real‑world environmentMentorship from experienced professionalsOpportunity to work on meaningful projects that impact the organizationNetworking opportunities within the industryPotential for future full‑time employment based on performanceNote At 407 ETR, we are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
