Overview Status: Term (up to 18 Months). In your role as Instructional Designer at The North West Company (NWC), you design and develop engaging learning experiences for employees across all NWC banners. The individual will develop learning resources and programs that support, develop and enhance employees’ capabilities while supporting business goals and needs. Location Location will vary between NWC Training Centre - 657 Century Street, and Gibraltar House - 77 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB Responsibilities Develop needs analysis and assess skill gaps to determine learning requirements Design, develop, evaluate and maintain in-house learning and development programs Collaborate with subject matter experts to assess needs and to create training materials Build, upload and maintain internal and external courses to the LMS Manage delivery of training in non-LMS solutions Collaborate with Operations to deliver and assess curriculum for key programs such as Management in Training and frontline associates Collaborate with business partners to develop and maintain store training and support tools Collaborate with the Recruitment team to design and support onboarding programs Facilitate or co-facilitate learning programs as required Remain current on latest learning and development trends and best practices Desired Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years of related experience in analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating blended learning programs Certificate in Adult Education (e.g. CAE, CACE/PDAL), Instructional Design, eLearning or equivalent an asset Strong working knowledge of design and authoring software such as Adobe suite and Articulate 360 Strong written communication skills and technical writing experience Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff Relationship building skills to establish partnerships with internal customers, experts, stakeholders Experience working on multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment Strong organizational, planning and time management skills Experience with systems such as learning management systems Fundamental understanding of project management Understanding of retail and/or grocery operations an asset Experience working with diverse cultures Ability to speak a second language (French, Spanish, Indigenous language) an asset Ability to travel to remote, northern Canadian communities on a regular basis, as required Reports to Manager, People Development – Learning Experience Equal Employment Opportunity The North West Company is committed to inclusion and diversity and encourages applications from all candidates including but not limited to: all religions and ethnicities, LGBTQ2s+, BIPOC, and persons with disabilities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
