About the Opportunity Provide technical evaluations, problem‑solving, and coordination in support of facility operations and emergency response documentation. Identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement, initiating studies or investigations as needed. Prepare reports for external requests, historical records, and compliance documentation. Review proposals from internal and external sources, recommend revisions, and provide disposition recommendations. Develop specifications for materials, services, and equipment; support procurement and provide technical oversight during installation. Ensure compliance with fire protection codes, standards, and licensing conditions. Provide expert guidance on fire hazard assessments, equipment lifecycle, protective gear, and compliance interpretations. Monitor fire protection systems and equipment, initiating compensatory measures where deficiencies exist. Support the development and updating of standards, procedures, and guides to align with regulatory requirements. Assist with fire risk assessments, hazard analyses, and the development of response plans for postulated scenarios. Maintain ongoing review processes to identify and mitigate risks related to equipment, training, staffing, or procedures. Liaise with department managers to address support needs and improve service delivery. Prepare correspondence and ensure corrective actions are implemented for regulatory directives. Coordinate with internal and external emergency response groups to strengthen fire protection and response capabilities. About You Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent education and experience). Strong knowledge of fire protection engineering, hazard assessment, and compliance with relevant codes and standards. Familiarity with national building and fire codes, as well as industry standards for fire protection programs. Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and recommendations, both written and verbal. Experience supporting emergency response or fire protection programs in complex industrial or regulated environments. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and propose effective solutions. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders, provide expert guidance, and support compliance initiatives. Fire response experience or knowledge is considered an asset.
