Senior / Engineering Assistant (Electrical), Facilities Management (2 Year Contract) The Engineering Assistant (Electrical) shall report to the Engineer and assist in the execution and management of FM services, such as operation, maintenance, modification, replacement and other activities under Electrical Engineering services and non-clinical equipment. In addition, the incumbent shall provide support to audit and monitor the prescribed KPIs of the maintenance services rendered by specialist vendors and outsourced maintenance service providers. The role involves supporting, implementing and managing cyclical improvement projects by both the department and hospital.Key Responsibilities and Duties Specific ResponsibilitiesAssist the engineer or manager in overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance scheduling and coordination work.Manage Maintenance Agent or Specialist Contractor day‑to‑day work for electrical systems such as High Tension Panels, LV Main Switchboard, Emergency Main Switchboards, Transformers, Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), Generators, all Sub‑boards/Emergency Sub‑boards and related equipment.Assist the engineer or manager in overseeing the performance of outsourced maintenance service providers and specialist vendors to ensure good maintenance standards and planned PM schedules are met.Ensure prompt service recovery for any breakdown of equipment and systems to minimize disruption to hospital service operations.Assist the engineer or manager to oversee and coordinate improvement projects to hospital services and facilities, as well as upgrading of systems and equipment components.Assist the engineer or manager with improvement works to existing hospital facilities such as renovation and retrofitting, replacement of system infrastructure, and improvement initiatives to existing specialised systems and hospital facilities.Provide advisory and support to the maintenance team in addressing and rectifying specialised system failures and troubleshooting. Recommend system condemnation and replacements as necessary.Prepare technical specifications and drawings for system improvements and draft cost estimates and work schedules for project execution.General ResponsibilitiesOversee outsourced maintenance team safety practice and work conduct and ensure good maintenance standards are implemented.Ensure prompt service recovery for any breakdown of equipment and systems to minimise disruption to hospital service operations.Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.Education / Training / ExperienceDiploma or higher in Electrical Engineering (Nitec, Higher Nitec, etc.) or equivalent.1‑4 years of experience, or an ITE graduate with at least 5 years’ electrical system experience.5‑6 years of experience, or an ITE graduate with at least 8 years’ electrical system experience for a senior position.Familiar with design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.Prior experience in management of electrical services and facilities operation as well as improvement projects is an advantage.Prior working experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.Competent in reading and interpreting architectural and M&E schematic drawings.Competent in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
