Join Canada's largest IT Company as a AWS, Snowflake Solution Architect, in our Financial Services Sector in Toronto. We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Solution Architect to design and build a scalable, secure, and enterprise‑grade data foundation layer leveraging Snowflake on Amazon Web Services. This role will be responsible for defining the target data architecture, enabling data ingestion, storage, governance, and consumption for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases across the bank. This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown client office at a minimum 4 days per week – subject to change at any time. Future Duties and Responsibilities Architecture & Design Design end-to-end data architecture on AWS using Snowflake as the core data platform Define data foundation layer (ingestion → storage → transformation → consumption) Establish reference architecture, patterns, and standards AWS Cloud & Platform Engineering Architect solutions using AWS services Optimize cost, performance, and scalability Ensure high availability and disaster recovery design Snowflake Data Platform Design Snowflake architecture: Databases, schemas, warehouses, data sharing and secure data access Implement data modeling (ELT/ETL patterns), performance tuning and workload management Data Ingestion & Integration Design pipelines for batch and real‑time ingestion of structured and semi‑structured data Integrate with upstream/downstream systems: Core banking systems, APIs and external data sources Analytics & Consumption Layer Enable data access for BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced analytics and AI/ML platforms Define semantic layer and data marts DevOps & Automation Implement CI/CD pipelines for data and infrastructure Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform / CloudFormation Promote DevSecOps practices Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role 10+ years in IT, with 5+ years in cloud architecture (AWS) and 3+ years in Snowflake implementation Experience in banking or financial services preferred Strong expertise in AWS (S3, EMR, EKS, Lambda, IAM, VPC) and Snowflake (Scala, Java, SQL) Experience with data modeling (Kimball / Data Vault), streaming (Kafka/Kinesis), Qunatexa (architecture & implementation) Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Nice to Have (Banking Context) Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (OSFI, FINTRAC) and data privacy and residency requirements Experience with large‑scale data platforms in Tier‑1 banks Certifications (Preferred) AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) Snowflake SnowPro Certification Pay Range CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $115,000–$165,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
