Working on large‑scale construction projects from $1.5 million to over $1 billion, you will ensure that health and safety on our sites and in our offices is not just a policy, but a way of life. What You Will Do Be the pioneer for site health and safety where project teams look to you for guidance and compliance becomes second nature. Lead as it relates to project‑specific standards, continuously promoting Pomerleau’s H&S standards, OH&S Acts, regulations and codes with teammates and trade partners. Play a key role from day one of project kick‑offs; craft plans, lead meetings, and spot potential hazards through to project closeouts and team celebrations. Conduct regular site inspections, boots on the ground. Lead the incident investigation processes for your project, dissecting high‑risk elements and sharing findings with the Regional H&S Manager. Specialize in building an environment with strong accident‑prevention foresight, making prevention a way of life. Act as the first responder when an emergency strikes, orchestrating safety best practices. Share your passion for training, mentoring, and coaching the team on H&S best practices. Compile and analyze statistics, identify patterns and pave the way for proactive improvements. Support the upkeep of Pomerleau’s COR standards, ensuring all COR elements are met and maintained on your job sites. Requirements 3‑5 years of hands‑on Health & Safety experience in the construction industry. Educational background in occupational H&S, risk management, or direct industry experience. Previous experience or familiarity with Certification of Recognition (COR) and Safety Group (IHSA). Exceptional people‑management and relationship skills. Proven experience working with computer programs to track and monitor your project’s H&S. NCSO designation is an asset. Benefits RRSP with up to 5% employer matching.
