Position Board Certified Cardiologist Location Veterinary Specialty Center of Newfoundland and Labrador, Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador Hospital Overview The Veterinary Specialty Centre of Newfoundland and Labrador is the province’s only specialty referral center and full-service emergency hospital. It was originally founded to ensure that no pet owner would have to leave the province for the proper care their pet needs. The centre houses the only board-certified radiologist in the province, regular locum board-certified surgeons, a CT scanner, an MRI machine, a canine blood donor program, and the only fully staffed ICU available 24 hours a day, Sunday through Thursday. As an emergency and referral hospital, our emergency department handles a diverse and exciting caseload that promotes lifelong learning and growth. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is client/patient centered, with strong communication and people skills. This person is self‑motivated, confident in their medical abilities, and able to collaborate with other doctors, as needed. Requirements Board Certification or board eligible Licensed (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in Newfoundland and Labrador Passion for what you do every day Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude are a must A strong desire to educate and build solid relationships with clients Excellent communication skills, both when dealing with clients and team members.
