Very heavy programming and data review for real‑world data analyses. Experience with commercial databases such as Optum, HealthVerity, PharmMetrics, or IQVIA PharmMetrics is important. Support for protocol and SAP review in support of the epidemiologist. ICD knowledge and experience. Develop programs and provide statistical programming support for epidemiologists or client/business use to source, organize (create statistical tables, listings, and graphs), and interpret complex data sets. Create analysis datasets, tables, and figures, evaluate programming processes, and suggest revisions to increase productivity. Conduct validation programming, collaborate with programmers, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and other project team members to resolve discrepancies or findings. Prepare data specifications and develop a strong understanding of study protocols. Review data and program outputs against protocol requirements, flag issues or questions, and elevate as appropriate. Manage scheduling and time constraints across multiple projects, setting goals based on priorities and adapting to timeline changes. Prepare in advance for internal meetings, contribute ideas, and demonstrate respect for opinions of others; conduct effective internal meetings, distribute relevant information, and follow action items to completion. Provide input on project documentation such as Statistical Analysis Plan, mock shells, programming specifications, and RW database structure. Participate in sponsor meetings, kickoff meetings, etc., and mentor programming personnel through training courses, presentations, and feedback. Minimal travel may be required. Minimum Requirements Data Experience: Electronic Health Records (eHR) Claims Data: Optum, HealthVerity, or IQVIA PharmMetrics Nice to have: MarketScan, VA data, Medicaid, Medicare Programming Languages: SAS or R; Must have SQL experience. Programmatic Cohort derivation experience; index date definition. Modeling/Programming: GLM, logistic, Cox, propensity score matching, incidence computation. Understand follow‑up period and impact; use of ICD or other clinical terminology. OMOP CDM understanding. Use of AI/ML for LLM and workflow scaffolding is ideal; AI/ML modeling, GitHub experience and versioning are nice to have. Experience using R, SAS, Python or other software to develop custom programming code to generate summary tables, data listings, graphs and derived RW datasets per the statistical analysis plan and programming specifications. Development of programming specifications. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH) and follow SOPs, WIs. Maintains organized, complete, and up‑to‑date project documentation, testing, verification/quality control documents and programs ensuring inspection readiness. Undergraduate or master’s degree in a scientific or statistical discipline such as biostatistics, mathematics or epidemiology. Extensive programming experience in SAS, R, Python, or other required software, in a RW environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
