The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will bring the Eglinton Crosstown LRT another 9.2 kilometers farther west, creating a continuous rapid transit line from the east end of Toronto into Mississauga. The Stations, Rail, and Systems (SRS) package encompasses the design, construction, integration, and commissioning of key project components.Position Overview TRP has a current opening for a Design & Means & Methods Manager who is responsible for leading the multidisciplinary technical coordination of stations and facilities while also developing and overseeing construction means and methods for the ECWE–SRS Project.This hybrid role merges engineering leadership with construction execution expertise to ensuresafe, high‑quality, and cost‑effective deliveryof complex transit facilities and associated civil works.The successful candidate will work closely with TRP, WSP, subcontractors, and the Contracting Authority to coordinate design interfaces, optimize construction solutions, and maintain alignment across design, construction, and systems integration.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Technical LeadershipLead design and coordination for transit facilities, including stations, bus terminals, and supporting infrastructure.Manage and review all Works Submittals related to architectural, structural, utilities, and system interfaces for stations and facilities.Coordinate with CA, Government Authorities, TTC, City of Toronto, and other stakeholders to ensure full compliance with Output Specifications and local requirements.Oversee resolution of design interfaces with project internal and external stakeholdersSupport the management of site conditions, existing infrastructure constraints, and integration with adjacent or connecting facilities.Develop, review, and optimize means and methods for construction of stations, facilities, and associated civil works.Analyze constructability challenges, site constraints, access/egress, equipment selection, sequencing, temporary works, and logistics planning.Ensure all construction methods comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and project requirements.Review subcontractor work plans, ensuring alignment with TRP methodology, scheduling, and interface constraints.Provide coaching and technical guidance to site teams on construction methods and best practices.Interface & Stakeholder CoordinationAct as a core technical interface between design teams (WSP), construction teams (TRP), and systems partners (including Alstom).Support technical reviews of Alstom/S&TCS inputs and their implications on stations and construction approaches.Facilitate multidisciplinary technical alignments and interface resolutions across architecture, structures, systems, M&E, utilities, and safety teams.Risk Identification & MitigationIdentify technical, environmental, construction, and interface risks early and propose mitigation strategies.Integrate environmental constraints and approvals into both design and construction methodologies.Evaluate opportunities for improving safety, quality, efficiency, and cost performance.Planning, Scheduling & DocumentationSupport construction sequencing and resource planning to align design intent with execution strategies.Ensure technical documentation and means & methods submissions meet CA requirements and project standards.Participate in project meetings and provide input on logistics, constructability, staging, and method statements.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Architect (OAA) preferred for technical leadership components.7–10+ years of experience in major infrastructure projects, with combined exposure to:public transit facility designmultidisciplinary coordinationStrong knowledge of transit systems design, civil/structural engineering, and construction methods.Demonstrated experience managing interfaces with authorities, stakeholders, and multi‑contract environments.Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.Multidisciplinary coordination & leadershipConstructability and staging analysisStakeholder and authority engagementAbility to work in fast‑paced, high‑stakes mega‑project environmentsExcellent problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills.Knowledge of safety regulations and construction standards applicable to large‑scale projects.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.What TRP Can Offer YouMedical, dental, and vision insuranceEmployer Matching Retirement ProgramLife insuranceAt TRP, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
