À propos du rôle Your mission is to design and produce rich, believable, and immersive 3D environments, contributing to all stages of production, from creation to in‑engine integration. Leveraging your expertise in materials and textures, you help strengthen the artistic direction and enhance the player experience, both visually and from a gameplay perspective. Versatile and autonomous, you are able to work across a wide range of environment creation contexts while acting as a materials reference within the team. You actively contribute to the evolution of workflows, techniques, and tools, sharing your expertise to elevate the overall quality of production. This role is based in our Quebec city, QC or Montreal, QC office and follows an onsite work schedule of four days per week. Work arrangements may change at the company's discretion to meet business needs. Responsibilities Create high‑quality materials and textures that meet artistic and technical requirements. Design, assemble, and integrate complete 3D environments, including asset creation when needed. Contribute to the creation and structuring of coherent biomes, ensuring seamless integration of materials, terrains, and natural elements. Work with terrain systems and contribute to their set up and ongoing improvement. Ensure in‑engine integration (shaders, composition, lighting) while respecting performance constraints. Collaborate closely with art, technical, and design teams to ensure alignment between artistic direction, gameplay needs, and technical limitations. Identify and evolve production methods to improve efficiency without compromising visual quality. Act as a materials and textures reference, sharing knowledge and supporting team skill development. Skills and Expertise Expert‑level experience in creating complex materials and textures, with strong mastery of Substance Designer (advanced node‑based workflows). Strong understanding of Physically Based Rendering (PBR). Good knowledge of Houdini and an interest in procedural approaches. Experience with terrain systems and biome creation or organization. Ability to produce and integrate environment assets (modeling, texturing, in‑engine assembly). Strong knowledge of game engine integration (shaders, composition, performance considerations). Solid understanding of game production constraints (optimization, memory, asset density). Strong sense of composition, readability, and visual consistency. Ability to interpret, support, and enhance an artistic direction. Solution‑oriented mindset and comfort working in an iterative environment. Openness to adopting new tools and technologies, including AI‑based solutions, to optimize creative workflows. Requirements Senior / expert profile with significant experience in environment creation for video games (AAA experience strongly preferred). Versatile artist capable of delivering environments autonomously. Strong specialization and natural leadership in materials and textures. Comfortable working at the intersection of art and technology. Autonomous, detail‑oriented, and proactive. Excellent collaboration and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams. Functional proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Bonus Points Experience with photogrammetry and integrating scanned assets into production workflows. Experience with terrain creation tools (e.g., World Creator, Gaia, Unreal Engine, etc.). Knowledge of advanced or procedural workflows.
