Lawyer, Labour and Employment Law Toronto, Ontario Our client Our client, a national leading full service firm, seeking a Labour & Employment Lawyer to join its highly regarded group in Toronto. The team advises employers ranging from emerging companies to major national and international organizations across a broad range of industries, including technology, financial services, manufacturing, retail and more. The group is recognized for its sophisticated advisory and litigation practice and regularly assists employers with complex workplace matters, strategic employment issues and high-profile disputes. The Role The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative team with a broad and sophisticated practice encompassing both employment litigation and day-to-day advisory work. The role will involve representing employers before courts, tribunals, labour boards and human rights bodies in matters relating to wrongful dismissal, discrimination and harassment claims, constructive dismissal, restrictive covenants, executive departures and workplace investigations. The successful candidate will also advise clients on a wide range of workplace and employment matters, including: Employment agreements and executive compensation arrangements Workplace policies and compliance matters Accommodation and human rights issues Terminations and workforce restructurings Employment issues arising in mergers and acquisitions Strategic labour and employment risk management The Ideal Candidate Member in good standing of the Ontario Bar Minimum 6 years of relevant labour and employment law experience Strong employment litigation and advisory experience Experience representing employers before courts, tribunals and administrative bodies Exposure to workplace investigations, executive employment matters and human rights issues considered an asset Excellent drafting, advocacy and negotiation skills Strong academic background Ability to manage files independently and maintain direct client relationships Commercially minded with strong judgment and interpersonal skills Job Details Location: Toronto Work Model: Hybrid Compensation: Competitive and aligned with the Bay Street market This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading national platform and sophisticated Labour & Employment group working on complex and high-value workplace matters for a premier employer-side client base.
