Your opportunity Dillon’s Energy Transition discipline is seeking a GHG Specialist to fill an existing vacancy within our multidisciplinary team of professionals. The role offers the chance to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. The successful candidate can be based at either the Calgary or Edmonton office and enjoys flexible work hours. Responsibilities Project Management & Verification Collaborate with the Practice Lead and senior team to develop and execute strategic plans for expanding Dillon’s technical capacity, service offerings, and market presence within the GHG verification sector. Monitor and analyze emerging provincial, national, and potential international GHG verification requirements (e.g., UNFCCC CDM, California ARB, ICAO CORSIA) and develop strategies to ensure compliance. Lead the delivery of internal training programs on GHG verification methodologies, program requirements, and audit best practices. Serve as the lead verifier for a diverse portfolio of GHG programs, managing planning, execution, and reporting of verification engagements. Maintain and enhance GHG‑related accreditations (e.g., ANAB), ensuring compliance with industry standards. Lead client engagements, scoping complex GHG verification projects across various sectors and developing tailored verification plans. Maintain an organized system for all GHG verification project documentation and accreditation records. Participate in the ongoing development and improvement of the company’s Quality Management System. Contribute to the enhancement of the internal Greenhouse Gas tool, Encompass. Learning & Development Commit to continuous self‑development, staying current with GHG regulations and verification methodologies. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff. Represent Dillon in professional associations, industry committees, and speaking engagements. Qualifications Undergraduate or advanced degree in a technical or sustainability‑related field and a track record of extensive experience in GHG accounting, reporting, validation, and verification across various programs. Experience Minimum of 5+ years in quality management systems and leading greenhouse gas verifications under programs such as federal OBPS, Alberta TIER, US programs (TCR, California ARB), and ideally international programs. Expert knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial GHG regulations and at least one US or international GHG program. Proven ability to apply GHG regulations to corporate reporting, including site visits, data analysis, and risk assessment. Experience with environmental regulators and accreditation bodies such as ANAB. Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite with strong data analysis and presentation skills. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14065). Strong leadership, initiative, and ability to mentor junior staff. Certificate in ISO 14064‑3 or other relevant GHG program certifications is an asset. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, able to manage multiple projects concurrently. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with clients and audit teams. Excellent English; proficiency in French is an asset.
