We are recruiting for the following role in our Calgary office.The Role This is a full-time role based in Calgary that will require periodic travel to Edmonton and potentially other cities across Canada. Overseeing all aspects of student recruitment and student program delivery in the Calgary office, including 1L, 2L, and articling student recruitment, as well as summer and articling student programs. This role also supports student recruitment and program delivery in the Edmonton office, with both offices operating in alignment with the firm’s national standards and frameworks.Responsibilities Student RecruitmentLead and manage all student recruitment cycles in Calgary, including 1L, 2L, and articling recruitment processes, ensuring alignment with the firm’s recruitment standards and compliance with Alberta Law Society recruitment rules.Provide support to the Edmonton office for student recruitment cycles, including application reviews, interview scheduling, and adherence to recruitment rules.Lead student recruitment activities, including planning and executing law school engagement initiatives (career fairs, panels, sponsorships, and events) and building relationships with law schools, student organizations, and career services offices to support and promote the firm’s student programs.Student Programs And EvaluationPlan, manage, and oversee all aspects of the summer and articling student programs in Calgary, including orientation, training, workflow management, and student engagement events.Support the Edmonton office in delivering summer and articling student programs, including guidance on program implementation, review processes, and ongoing support to students.Facilitate multiple annual student performance review processes.Provide mentorship, guidance, and developmental feedback to students in Calgary and support similar efforts in Edmonton.Qualifications Education and ExperienceLLB or JD degreeCalled to the Bar for a minimum of 3 yearsExperience within a law firm environment, ideally in a large firm setting, with exposure to student recruitment, professional development, or talent-related initiatives, and a strong understanding of legal markets are considered assetsRequired Skills And AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal and relationship-building skillsStrong understanding of articling, the practice of law, and the skills necessary for success in bothExceptional oral and written communication skillsHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyStrong personal initiative and ability to work independentlyEffective time management and ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlinesApply To Darcy LegrosChief, Legal Talent OfficerBennett Jones Services Limited PartnershipE-mail: #J-18808-Ljbffr
