Description*Fixed Term Full Time Position Available until end of May 2027*Overview of Role As a member of the Pensions Team, you will provide technical and statutory expertise, guidance and advice on a range of regulatory matters in relation to defined benefit, defined contribution, and target benefit pension plans.Additional DutiesProviding technical analysis and guidance for the review, analysis and processing of pension plan documentation and correspondence submitted to FSRA from stakeholders within the pension industry.Working within a team environment, case manages registered pensions plans and applies risk‑based and principles‑based techniques and processes to identify and manage risks with plan administrators to protect member pension benefits and rights.Providing senior level customer service to investigate, respond, and resolve complex complaints and provide interpretation and advice on the requirements of pension legislation and pension plans.Conducting research on pension industry trends and contributing to the development of operational policies, protocols and practices.Qualifications Specialized Knowledge and ExperienceDemonstrated knowledge of the methods and procedures involved in the administration of pension plans, including the application of actuarial methods and assumptions to provide technical expertise to the pension industry and the general public.Proven knowledge of the content, interpretation and application of the Pension Benefits Act and Regulations, including legislative requirements of pension plans in all jurisdictions within Canada, both provincially and federally, to review complex submissions and provide a high level of customer service.Proven knowledge of pertinent areas of labour law and collective agreements relating to pension plans, their administration, and current investment trends, to monitor the financial status and transactions related to the operation of pension plans.Knowledgeable in applying a Principles‑Based Risk (PBR) lens, in the review of applications and plan related transactions.SkillsDemonstrated analytical skills to conduct the investigation and review of complex pension submissions and complaints, to determine recommendations and implement actions.Proven verbal communication skills to respond to complex inquiries and complaints and to provide briefings and advice to FSRA management.Proven written communication skills to prepare correspondence in response to complaints, research papers, issues analysis documentation, procedural recommendations, presentation and briefing materials.Compensation Grade Grade 32-OPSEU ADMCompensation Range $1,438.59 – $1,836.98Bargaining Unit OPSEUJob Code Job Code: 02285Employment Type Fixed Term (Fixed Term)Scheduled Weekly Hours 36.25EEO Statement FSRA is committed to ensuring equity in employment.
