Job Title: Team Lead Job Description The Team Lead oversees day-to-day warehouse operations in a fast-paced receiving department, ensuring safety, efficiency, quality, inventory accuracy, and customer service objectives are consistently met. This is a hands‑on leadership role that involves guiding warehouse team members, monitoring performance and KPIs, and supporting all aspects of receiving, warehousing, and shipping activities. Responsibilities Monitor employee performance, conduct, and work quality to ensure all team members meet operational expectations. Ensure on‑time receiving by coordinating daily activities in the receiving department and resolving issues that may impact timelines. Oversee safety, security, and housekeeping standards, ensuring the warehouse remains neat, secure, and organized at all times. Assist in inventory management by supporting accurate inventory counts, accuracy initiatives, and related warehouse processes. Assist in freight booking and dock planning to optimize dock utilization and support efficient product flow. Work hands‑on in general labour tasks such as unloading, loading, shipping, receiving, order picking, and using RF scanners as needed to support the team. Essential Skills Reliable self‑starter who can work independently and take initiative without constant supervision. Proven ability to lead staff to meet customer demands and company objectives in a warehouse or production environment. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey instructions and information clearly. Experience working in a warehouse RF environment, including the use of RF scanners. Previous experience in a leadership capacity within a warehouse or production facility. Additional Skills & Qualifications Willingness to learn and operate material handling equipment, including power pallet jacks. Experience in a fast‑paced third‑party logistics or large warehouse environment. Ability to adapt to an ever‑changing work environment and remain flexible with processes and priorities. Comfort working in a hands‑on leadership role, supporting both operational tasks and people management. The warehouse team consists of approximately 20–30 people, including power pallet operators and warehouse workers. The culture emphasizes finding practical ways to get the job done, with an expectation of flexibility and adaptability in an ever‑changing operational environment. Team members perform general labour tasks such as heavy lifting, unloading, loading, shipping, receiving, order picking, and using RF scanners. The shift runs Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The atmosphere is energetic and team‑oriented, where listening to music and enjoying work is encouraged while maintaining focus on safety, organization, and productivity. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
