Job Description We are already starting our second project. Our goal is to build a small, elite team to design, develop, and ship a great game. This is a hands‑on role that requires understanding games from multiple angles and driving the project to completion with ownership and ambition. Responsibilities Assume ownership of the game as a whole, from vision to final playable experience. Translate ambition into clear, cohesive, and high‑quality execution across all aspects of the game. Work hands‑on daily in Unreal Engine 5 (Blueprints and/or C++) to build, prototype, and iterate. Drive direction through decisions and execution. Make fast, informed trade‑offs across design, technology, scope, and production. Identify risks early and solve problems before they scale or slow down the team. Define and embody a lean, efficient, and highly accountable development culture. Lead a small team by example, raising the bar through direct contribution. Collaborate closely with the team to ensure strong alignment and momentum across the product. Leverage modern tools and workflows, including AI, to accelerate iteration and improve output. Knowledge / Skills Strong ownership mindset with a bias for action and results. Proven ability to deliver impactful work in game development, through shipped titles or equivalent contributions. Ability to operate across disciplines with a solid understanding of design, technology, and production. Comfortable working directly in Unreal Engine 5 in a hands‑on capacity. Strong understanding of game feel, player experience, and systems design. Clear understanding of production realities, scope, and trade‑offs. Strong awareness of business impact and what drives a game's success. Ability to operate with high autonomy and minimal structure. Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information. Curious and pragmatic about modern development tools, including AI. Able to operate effectively in a primarily French‑speaking environment. Benefits Hybrid work model with choice of remote or studio basis within Quebec. Generous RRSP employer contributions. Health, dental and wellness coverage including telemedicine. Personal and wellness days. OPUS subsidy (Subvention OPUS). Must be legally able to work in Canada and be based in the province of Quebec.
