JOB SUMMARY: Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Team Leader, Qu ality/Foo d Safety/Envir onment to join our night shift team at our Montreal refinery. Reporting to the Qu ality/Foo d Safety & E nvironm ent Manager , the incumbent i s responsible for planning, o rga nizing, controlling, and evaluating team activiti es to ensure that processing and finished prod ucts meet established standa rds and specif icat ions. He/she is involved in various programs associated w ith th e Quality, Food Safety and Envir onment d epartment to ensure product sa fety, quality , a nd reli abil ity , while a dhe r ing to applicabl e occupational health and safety re gul ations, g ood operati ng practices, and food saf ety st andards . RESPONSIBILITIES: Promote an d enforce health and s afet y in th e workplace, ensu ring the phy sical well-bei ng of l aboratory technici ans; conduct sector-specific visits with th e OHS re present ative and impleme nt corrective measures; En su re the effectiv e management of qu ality technicians by participa ting i n interviews and hir ing, tr aining technicians and op erators in ana lyt ica l methods, and provid ing the necessary te chnical suppor t t o achieve high leve ls of productivity while adhering to qu ali ty standards; Maintain positive working relationsh ips and administ er the collective agreement to foster and mai ntain a po sitive wo rk environment; Make decis ion s regarding product disp osal in cas es of non- conform ity an d provide the nec essar y support to operations; S erve as a k e y playe r in the d epartm ent f or decision-making and cr isis management; coordinate the necessar y res o urc es du rin g e mergencies; Support the Quality/Food Safety & Environment Manager in th e d epa rtmen t's o perations, a ct a s her repla cement during her absences, and ensu re th e sm o o th runn ing of the dep a rtment; W o rk clo sely with the day shift Q uali ty Team Leader and Team Leaders of othe r departm ents, a nd pro vide the necessary technical suppor t; Manage the quality/foo d safety impact of new projects by developing an alytical methods, ensu ring that the necessary res ou rces are avai lable for p roje ct implementat ion and follow-up with the various s tak eholders; E ns ure the perfo rmance, co nsistency, and improvement of the labor at ory by mon itoring i nstr um ent calibration, follow ing the sampling pla n, and implement ing efficient work methods; Prep are the budget & ensure rigorous departmental budget ary control ; Administer employee payroll in the Kronos system. Publish a nd upd at e t he team s ched ule to mee t the laboratory's needs; C onduct i nspections related to th e fleet of railcars; Col laborate closely with qu ality coordinator s/ technic ian s t o resp ond to internal requ ests, re gulatory requireme nts and actively participat e in internal and external audits . QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor' s degree in C hemis try, Scie nce, Food T echnolog y, or equiv al en t ; Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a similar position; Experience i n personnel managem ent within a un ion ized environment; Member of the Order of Chemists; K nowledge of FSSC and HACCP requirem ents; Bilingualism in Fr enc h and English (spok en and wr itt en) to communic at e with our Fr e nch- and English-sp eaking sites; Strong organizational and planning skills; S trong problem-solv i ng, co nflict ma nag ement, and cha nge ma nagement skills; Excellent decision-making, comm unication, and interpersonal skills; strong t eamwork, list ening, and lead ership skills; Ability t o influence, mot iv ate , and men tor; Strong sense of responsibility; precision , autonomy, and adaptabi l ity; Ability to pri oritize qualit y and re sults ; D emonstrated proactive app roa ch; Analytical and s c ientific m indset ; Ability to manage s t r e s s.
