Hybrid schedule - Downtown Toronto, ON - 3 days a week IntePros is partnering with a high-growth, technology-driven organization to identify a Director of AI to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI and machine learning solutions across the business. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on engineering, architecture, and strategic leadership, with a strong focus on applying modern AI, including large language models, to real-world business problems. The ideal candidate will be a builder at heart who can both develop solutions and guide broader AI adoption across the organization. Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of scalable AI/ML solutions, including LLM-based and traditional machine learning models Build and deploy AI-powered applications, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability in production environments Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to identify high-impact use cases and translate them into actionable solutions Architect end-to-end AI systems, including data pipelines, model training, inference workflows, and integration into existing platforms Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies, tools, and frameworks Establish best practices for AI development, governance, monitoring, and ongoing optimization Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, guiding architecture decisions and implementation approaches Drive AI adoption across the organization, communicating technical concepts and business value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Stay current with advancements in generative AI, LLMs, and broader machine learning ecosystems Qualifications 7+ years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or related technical fields Proven experience building and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments Strong expertise in large language models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA, BERT) and modern AI frameworks Proficiency in Python and common ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and MLOps practices Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including working with structured and unstructured data Ability to design scalable architectures and integrate AI systems into enterprise environments Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex AI concepts into business impact Preferred Experience Experience with generative AI use cases such as copilots, chatbots, or workflow automation Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and vector databases Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines Exposure to AI governance, security, and regulatory considerations What Success Looks Like Successfully identifies and prioritizes high-impact AI use cases aligned to business goals Delivers production-ready AI solutions that drive measurable outcomes Establishes scalable frameworks for ongoing AI development and deployment Builds credibility across technical and business teams as a trusted AI leader No sponsorship for this role.
