Senior Design Specialist - Wireless Device Strategy Location: Scarborough, GTA Job Type: Full Time, Regular Description Join our team and what we’ll accomplish together. Responsibilities Strategize forward‑looking insights on what is expected in the device technology ecosystem progression to influence the network infrastructure development plans. Create the next suite of technical specifications and test plans to evaluate and certify wireless devices for the future network‑enabled features in lab and field environments. Collaborate with wireless OEM partners to roadmap, prototype, proof and develop the next generation of 5G, LTE and other wireless features. Drive the multi‑entity coordination (both internally and externally) during the introduction and development of new network‑impacting device features. Support, train and nurture team members in Realization teams to adapt requirements and test procedures for device certification cycles. Qualifications Valued for your technical work with RF enhancements, VoNR/VoLTE/VoWifi services, domestic and international roaming, Carrier Aggregation or other network‑centric device features. Regarded for your depth of knowledge spanning over multiple generations of wireless device technology ecosystems (5G SA/NSA/Open RAN, LTE, HSPA, EDGE, and GSM). Skilled in technical design/setup/operation of lab network RAN equipment, simulator tools, device logging tools. Expert at software testing or development experience for mobile devices (Android, iOS) in lab and field environments. Praised for your ability to respond with initiative, analyze nuances of technical device features and communicate data models into key insights, concept and recommendations. Respected for your interpersonal verbal and written presentation skills with technical audiences. Knack for navigating ambiguity and thinking “outside of the box.” With 7+ years of equivalent experience in telecom engineering development, troubleshooting, or testing. Less experienced candidates will be considered if you have demonstrated experience, skills, and potential. With a degree in Engineering or Computer Science. Nice to Haves Enthusiasm with building relationships and building influence with a variety of stakeholders. 5G millimeter Wave, Open RAN architecture interworking, 3GPP Rel 18 features. Technical presentation or publications experience. Industry communal awareness and curiosity of 3GPP players and sensitivity of the current national and global wireless environment. Salary & Benefits Salary Range: $86,000 – $136,000 Performance Bonus: 15% Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
