Role Overview Reporting to the Project Director, the Quality & Sustainability Manager is responsible for the implementation of the approved Project Quality Plan (PQP) and the Sustainability Management Plan, ensuring that the plans are adhered to by both Aecon and its subcontractors. The PQP must be held in compliance with the corporate quality management system (QMS) and aligned with the company's quality objectives. What You’ll Do Here Manage and oversee project quality to ensure compliance to codes, standards, regulations, equipment specific specifications, and QMS requirements. Managing the development and implementation of the PQP for planning, fabrication, inspection, documentation, and operations activities including:Planning duties within the QA/QC staff and related work schedules; Establishing service standards for end users (i.e., internal department or external customer); Identifying and developing QA/QC personnel certification requirements and continuing education/training needs; Providing leadership, mentorship, and direction of all QA/QC personnel. Taking full responsibility for the development and approval of all Installation Test Plans (ITPs) including hold‑point releases once all quality functions have been completed. Oversee supervision of all visual inspections and Non‑Destructive Examinations (NDE), including 3rd party subcontractors. Managing inspection, NDE, and testing plans for new construction, repair work, and alterations. Identify and develop solutions to correct inspection function deficiencies. Assist with the development of technical method statements for proposals or project execution plans. Support pre‑construction activities including material selection and testing, material shop drawings. Providing problem solving support to quality, technical, safety or cost related challenges encountered on projects. Propose and develop solutions as required. Advancing quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization. Work collaboratively with other divisions of Aecon Group to achieve objectives. Lead all sustainability coordination with the client. Ensure ESMP requirements are embedded in work methods and implemented on site. Compile and submit sustainability and Envision data, including fuel, equipment, and materials documentation. Coordinate EPDs and recycled content certifications with procurement. Track and manage all Sustainable/Envision deliverables and attend client sustainability meetings. What You Bring to the Team 10–15 years of deep foundations construction industry experience. Exposure to a diverse range of geotechnical construction methods including various types of drilled and driven piling, anchoring, micropiles, percussive drilling, various types of shoring, soil mixing, jet grouting and diaphragm walls. Exposure to ground improvement and marine constructions would be considered a strong asset. Demonstrated knowledge of the Envision v3 sustainability framework and its data collection and reporting requirements. Proven experience in planning, scheduling, and work execution. Experience in the selection of the design and testing of concrete and other cement based materials. Willingness to travel for temporary site‑based secondment roles, as applicable. Natural leader and team builder who can build strong relationships quickly. Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly identify and articulate issues to senior financial and operations management.
