Our Mining Division in Eastern Canada is growing, and we are currently recruiting for an Electrical Designer co‑op to join our team in the Burlington office. This will be a fall term co‑op.About the roleProvides basic drawings and design suggestions under the guidance of a more senior designer or engineer.Complies with Ausenco or client specific drawing specifications and document control procedures.Prepares drawings and uses CAD aided design software for the creation of electrical design of single line diagrams, motor schematics, wiring, general arrangement, distribution panels, grounding, lighting, and cable tray.Prepares drawings and uses CAD aided design software for instrumentation and controls design of loop drawings, PLC and DCS wiring, panel layout and instrument general arrangement.Back drafts redlines from check prints and markups as directed by the Electrical Engineer/Technologist.Creates drawings based on sketches, templates or previous designs.Performs routine material take‑offs (MTO).Has working knowledge and good understanding of electrical code and standards such as OESC, CEC, CSA and IEEE.Participates in basic electrical studies such as short circuit, relay coordination and arc flash using ETAP or similar software.Responsible to perform cable sizing, cable tray sizing, conduit sizing calculations.Performs construction inspections for general compliance with drawings.About you0 to 3 years of experience in a consulting engineering firm preferred.Technical diploma from an accredited post‑secondary institution in electrical design/drafting.Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and AutoPlant 3D.Experience with Microsoft Office is a must.Experience with ETAP or any similar power analysis software.Experience with construction sites, ability to perform site inspection and work closely with contractors during construction.Written and oral communication skills.Commitment and enthusiasm for learning.Ability to work and communicate in a team environment.BenefitsCareer advancement:Embark on a journey of continuous growth through technical training, mentorship initiatives, and networking opportunities.Work‑life balance:Experience the best of both worlds with a hybrid work model and progressive parental leave benefits.Holistic approach to wellness:Access confidential counselling, information services, and a benefits program that supports health and wellness.Accessible leadership team:Work with highly reputable industry leaders who value your contribution.We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing employment accommodation in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).
