POSITION SUMMARY The CG Generalist is responsible for completing a diverse array of 3D‑related tasks, maintaining a high degree of adaptability and a wide breadth of CG skills. MAIN DUTIES The CG Generalist proficiently completes 3D‑related tasks including hard surface modeling, look development, texturing, animation, rendering, shading, lighting, tracking, and effects. They assist with developing the look of a sequence, drive the creative and technical setup of assets, and ensure look consistency, optimized render times, and ease of use of assets. They are also responsible for the following: manage publishing of assets and conduct follow‑ups to ensure team usability; QC lighting setups of other Houdini TDs to ensure best practices, optimized render times, and methodologies; work closely with compositors to ensure renders are efficient, consistent, and clean; pivot between roles and projects as needed; maintain aesthetic, creative, and technical quality standards of production. WHAT YOU BRING The ideal candidate will have solid prior CG generalist experience at a VFX studio, proven ability across various CG disciplines, strong understanding of the CG pipeline, and strong technical CG knowledge. They will also have a strong background in character, mechanical, and animation. Additional desired skills include proven ability to balance quality of work with time constraints and working knowledge of Maya, Houdini, Substance, Photoshop, ZBrush, Mari, Nuke, Shotgrid, asset look‑dev, and shot lighting done within Houdini, and rendered with Mantra and Karma. PAY RANGE & BENEFITS The listed pay range represents the lowest to highest range that we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the range may be based on several factors including but limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, local currency exchange rates, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue‑based metrics, applicable law, and business or organizational needs. The benefits for eligible part‑time employees working 25 or more hours per week and full‑time employees in the US include a comprehensive package of health, retirement, and insurance benefits and paid time off.
