Position Title: Safety Manager Prepared Foods Florenceville Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Requisition ID: 42274 Site: Florenceville, NB Prepared Foods About The Role The Manager Health, Safety and Security is part of the Leadership Team at the site, providing guidance and strategic direction to leaders and implementing the management system (work processes, standards, and procedures). They drive a Safety Mindset and Culture for all employees, proactively improving health, safety and security, ensuring emergency preparedness, crisis management, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance. What You’ll Be Doing The position interacts with employees to ensure a culture of caring and accountability for safety and health, fostering a zero‑accident mindset and active engagement. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal safety regulatory requirements and acts as the plant representative during inspections. Develops and implements processes and procedures to ensure facility, employee and contractor compliance with company and regulatory agencies. Provides strategic leadership, partnerships and change initiatives to promote behavior‑based safety programs and continuous improvement. Collaborates with engineering, maintenance, quality assurance and other functions to align new products, capital projects and activities with safety objectives. Facilitates employee safety committees and serves as a resource for department safety meetings. Stays abreast of developments in the health, safety and security area through professional associations, workshops and other resources. Participates in Kaizen events, training and education in continuous improvement processes. Utilizes tools to measure progress with leading and lagging indicators. Manages Workers’ Compensation in partnership with Risk Management. Plans, budgets and executes programs to prevent injury and illness, targeting both on‑job and off‑job activities that influence health. Ensures compliance with governmental and company security requirements, manages in‑plant security systems, conducts audits and provides assistance in Food Safety & Security as needed. Maintains an up‑to‑date emergency action and crisis management plan and conducts annual crisis drill simulations. Performs other related duties as assigned. This role has direct leadership responsibility for the site Safety Coordinator and reports to the Plant Manager with a strong dotted‑line to the Director of Safety & Health. What You’ll Need To Be Successful Advanced Safety Certificate, BA Safety, Certified Safety Professional or equivalent experience. Minimum of 7 years of progressive and applicable experience in the field. Knowledge of Federal and State safety requirements and workers’ compensation. Training experience is a plus. Good working knowledge of HRIS, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint. Compensation Package $97,500.00 - $130,000.00 CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility. The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting.
