Here’s an opportunity that might interest you.You will be focussing on:Compensation and Partner File ManagementMaintain rigorous, structured, and up-to-date documentation of associate filesPrepare, structure and analyze the financial information required to respond to information requests related to partner filesPrepare and analyze partner compensation schedulesProduce and validate monthly distribution and payment files to partners, including retirement allowances and consulting fees, in accordance with applicable agreementsUpload monthly distribution data to the payroll systemPrepare and coordinate capital contributions and repayments and act as a point of contact with banksActively participate in the continuous improvement of the Partners Office processes, policies, and practicesCoordinate the allocation of amounts due to partners in connection with the global referral programSupport management in all communications to partnersSupport partners in the creation of a professional corporationFinancial Accounting, Controls and Continuous ImprovementPrepare and record month-end and year-end entries related to the Partners OfficeDevelop and maintain internal controls related to partners' equitySupport external auditorsTaxAssist in the preparation and follow-up of partners' tax obligations (T5013, RL-15 and other applicable slips)Perform rigorous reconciliations between accounting, tax and operational dataAct as an internal expert in partnership taxation and demonstrate an ability to explain complex financial and tax information clearly and professionallyCollaborate with external firms (accounting firms) to obtain answers to more complex tax questions from partnersApply to the Canada Revenue Agency for certificates of residencyWhat youbring to the role:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance5 to 8 years of relevant experience in financial accounting or financial analysisExpertise in partnership taxation (or strong interest in taxation)Experience in a similar position within an accounting or law firm is a significant asset.Advance command of ExcelHighly organized and excellent priority management skillsDemonstrated ability to structure information and communicate with clarity and professionalism when requiredBilingualism (French/English) requiredNorton Rose Fulbright is a large international legal practice with multiple offices around the world.
