Position Summary The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, specification, and support of control panels and electrical assemblies (climate control, AHUs, lighting) used in controlled environment systems. This role translates project requirements into electrical designs, develops schematics, bills of materials, and validates designs through testing and risk assessment. The electrical engineer collaborates with cross‑functional teams to support manufacturing, installation, and service while driving standardization in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. Reporting to: Manager, Sustaining Engineering Work Location: Winnipeg, Canada Responsibilities Design and release electrical systems for controlled environment products, including drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials. Lead and implement design changes to improve product performance, standardize products, reduce material cost, and comply with industry regulations. Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to improve product design. Translate project requirements into engineering specifications. Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis on electrical and control systems. Review, evaluate, and approve designs to ensure quality, compliance, and on‑time delivery. Support manufacturing, supply chain, quality, installation, and service teams throughout the product lifecycle. Conduct engineering risk assessments when appropriate and make recommendations to leadership. Develop and maintain CAD models, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Desired Qualifications B.Sc. or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering/Technology. 8+ years of experience in Electrical Control System Design. Experience designing high voltage systems up to 600V and three‑phase applications. Strong knowledge of PLC/DDC systems, electrical controls, and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.). Proficient in CAD modeling (SolidWorks is an asset). Experience with BOMs, ERP systems, and engineering change processes. Understanding of industry standards (UL, CE) and product lifecycle management. Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
