Senior Project Manager – Transportation Planning / Bus Rapid Transit We are growing our Canadian Integrated Planning practice. Our team works with a range of key clients in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and with clients and colleagues elsewhere in Canada and in the United States. We are looking for someone to support major project delivery and business development activities for our key clients in the transit market. Current transportation planning projects being undertaken by our team include work for the public and private sector relating to multi‑modal transportation planning, transit planning, integrated land use and transport planning, accessibility analyses, business case preparation, pedestrian modelling and GIS. The opportunity Represent Arup as the day‑to‑day project manager on a diverse range of transportation planning and transit projects including bus rapid transit, mobility hubs, maintenance and storage facilities, and transit priority projects in the GTHA, across Canada and internationally. Support the Bus Rapid Transit Leader on a range of business development activities, including developing client relationships and preparation of bids across North America. Integrate and manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality project deliverables, including documentation and presentations. Establish and maintain connections with professional colleagues, identify and develop marketing leads, prepare marketing proposals and materials, and represent Arup at interviews. Deliver high‑quality products, undertake financial management of projects and be responsible for client relationships, and management of staff and subcontractors. Help to lead, manage and mentor staff. Is this role right for you? Degree in urban planning, civil engineering or a closely‑related discipline. Professionally licensed in Canada (e.g. RPP, P.Eng.). 10+ years of relevant professional experience including recent (3+ years) experience in the GTHA region. Demonstrated experience with a range of key clients that could include City of Toronto, City of Ottawa, Metrolinx, MTO, other Ontario municipalities, and/or transit agencies. Proven track record managing stakeholder inputs to achieve client goals and delivering effective public presentations. Demonstrated project management skills on large multi‑disciplinary projects. Demonstrated ability to win work through client relationships and proposal writing. Understanding of transportation and land use planning and municipal approval processes. Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills. Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges in a fast‑paced environment. Toronto hiring range – the good faith base salary hiring range for this role in Toronto is $130,000 to $140,000 per year. This range reflects experience, educational background and skill level.
