The incumbent will assist in development and implementation of electrical manufacturing policies and procedures, liaise directly with other department personnel to ensure project goals are met on budget, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.What You’ll Be Doing TechnicalRecognize problems, initiate action, assist in problem solving and evaluate results on major issue prior to releasing drawings to manufacturingReview and approve all project designs and that the designs meet the Eclipse high standards of quality, reliability and safety as well as meets Electrical Safety Code requirementsEnsure concepts meet Eclipse Automation quality, safety and reliability standardsLeadershipGuide, direct, teach, assist and advise department staff on practical designing practices and standardsGuide, organize and coordinate assigned staff to prioritize project deliveryOversee the Electrical project team functions to ensure project contract deliverables are metPromote positive relations with partners, customers, vendors, and distributorsRecommend and consistently administer policies and procedures to enhance department operations and support continuous improvementEnforce and promote Eclipse policies throughout the entire company including Human Resources, personal development, Safety and EnvironmentalRecommend Eclipse Data Base improvements on an ongoing basis to increase efficiency throughout the companyLiaise between all departments to ensure on time delivery of purchased items and on time delivery of Eclipse machinery and equipmentWork with Human Resources and abide to Employment Standards Act and the Eclipse Employee HandbookPromote environmentally and ergonomically safe conceptual product and/or processes to ensure safety of Eclipse personnel and the customer’s employeesEnsure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct CodeAdhere to the Eclipse Project Operating PolicyMaintain company confidentialityMaintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate VisionAdhere to all Health and Safety rules and proceduresRepresent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the companyComplete other duties and projects as assignedFoster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the businessAbility to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projectsProject ExecutionAct as the point-of-Contact for the PM department on all for assigned projectsUpdate project completion with respect to weekly confirmation of critical milestones, labour hours and percent complete on projectEnsure Scheduled milestones are metUpdate Open Issues List as requiredNotify the PM if milestones cannot be metAssist in performance reviewsAttend appropriate meetingsAssume full responsibility for department scope of assigned projectsDelegation of duties of the project to team membersEnsure that Company ISO Standards are followedEnsure project tasks are entered correctly and promptly for accurate man hour records for project management departmentRespond to CAR’s issued to the departmentEnter labour projections into the DB for assigned projectsInitiate and participate in the planning and development of project mechanical designs that are applicable to the Electrical portion of the projectWhen required, place requisition for ESA inspection of projectWork with Tool Room Lead to develop a build and wiring plan for the projectEnsure that purchased parts are kitted and stored appropriately ready for projectEnsure that design updates are executed correctlyTravelExpectation of travel up to 30% of time could be anticipated, however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needsWhat We’re Looking For EducationHas successfully completed an Electrician Certificate of Qualification (Industrial or Construction Maintenance)Has completed a College Diploma, CEGEP, vocational or technical training.
