Overview Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is responsible for supervising manufacturing operations and employees for a designated value stream. This position plans and assigns resources, implements policies and procedures, and recommends and executes improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. As a Production Supervisor you will: Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas, seeking to meet and improve schedule dates, improve quality, reduce process times, reduce inventory levels, increase the utilization of resources and manage department priorities. Supervise the work and activities of manufacturing employees, manage manpower and materials needed to complete jobs accurately and on time, monitor production schedules and results, manage departmental performance measures, and provide regular progress reports to management and peers. Responsible for monitoring/approving time and attendance of departmental employees, issuing corrective actions when required. Manage and maintain approved headcount with HR coordination, and recommend and justify required changes. Monitor all transactional departmental performance, including work order management, inventory transactions, and drive root cause investigations when issues arise (scrap, rework, inventory, past due work orders, etc.) and actively provide recommendations based on diagnostics. Ensure effective employee relations by actively communicating with employees, providing regular feedback, mentoring and development, and resolving employee issues through coaching and problem resolution. Evaluate and update performance of team members against their job requirements and performance goals within the designated time frame, recommend and utilize corrective actions when required, and provide input and recommendations on employment decisions. Determine departmental training requirements and establish, create, and maintain all required training matrices and records (TWI, ISO, cross training, onboarding, etc.). Be responsible for safety compliance of all departmental employees and all EH&S supervisor activities per WHMIS guidelines. Ensure employees’ personal safety by identifying and coordinating appropriate safety training, and create, maintain and enforce departmental and company safety rules. Actively serve on or support JHSC team, and lead activities required in incident reporting, performing accident investigations, and safety audits. Ensure departmental 6S standards are met and that a safe and clean work area is created and maintained daily. Assist in initiating, implementing and leading continuous improvement activities, monitoring for internal and external trends, completing root cause analysis on departmental quality issues, and developing appropriate corrective actions when required. Work cross‑functionally with departments across the organization, including Supply Chain, Engineering, Safety, and other manufacturing support. We are looking for someone who: 5-7 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years of experience directing an hourly or manufacturing workforce. High school diploma or GED. Ability to influence others to foster ideas and continuous improvement. Intermediate computer skills including experience with the MS Office suite; MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. as well as a business planning and inventory system. Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills. Knowledgeable in Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing concepts and procedures. Extensive knowledge and leadership in the principles and practice of Lean, Six Sigma, 5P and/or other continuous improvement models; participated in related improvement projects. Strong analytical, decision‑making, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills. Well‑developed organization and prioritization skills; detail oriented. Embraces changes with a positive attitude. Ability to multi‑task under pressure in a high‑paced environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English. Results‑oriented, self‑motivated individual with a sense of initiative. What we offer you: Typical pay is $73,000.00 – $101,000.00 annually.
