Position Overview This role will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods, materials, and subcontracted services for a large scale tunnel construction project. The ideal candidate will ensure the timely and cost effective acquisition of high quality resources in compliance with project specifications and organizational standards. The project involves a new eight lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet project timelines and budgets. Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive terms while maintaining quality standards. Prepare purchase orders and manage contracts for materials, equipment and services required for the project. Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with agreements, timelines and quality expectations. Collaborate with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to forecast procurement needs and address potential challenges. Maintain procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders and supplier correspondence. Manage inventory levels to avoid project delays or cost overruns. Ensure all procurement activities align with regulatory requirements and company policies. Act as a liaison between the company and suppliers to resolve any issues related to delivery, quality or pricing. Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field. 5+ years of procurement experience in infrastructure or tunnel construction projects. Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Procurement or similar). Strong understanding of materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements for tunneling projects. Knowledge of contract law and construction procurement regulations. Proven experience in procurement within the construction or building industry, preferably on large scale projects.
