The Opportunity Wajax Limited is currently seeking a full-time Permanent Safety Advisor. This job position is an in-person position with required travel. The ideal candidate has a strong Health and safety administration background with keen communication skills. The role requires both office and shop/field time allocation. The Role Key Accountabilities for this role include: Support, participate in and offer coaching to staff and leadership. Conduct in-person and virtual site tours, ensuring effective safety practices while providing advice, guidance, and coaching. Support remote branches through regular communication and virtual assistance. Collaborate with leadership & JHSC with clients and external HS related requests. Work jointly with the EHS&W team across Canada on various projects and objectives throughout the year. Aid with maintaining the Certificate of Recognition (COR) and action planning. Assist leadership in reviewing incident investigation and providing guidance on S.M.A.R.T corrective action development. Ensure quality reviews and verification of corrective actions for closure. Attend and participate in safety meetings. Advise, develop, maintain and assist with implementation of the health and safety program. Provide training on a wide range of safety matters that support strategic and operational objectives. Review legislation, industry alerts, policies and procedures; monitor legislative and regulatory changes and initiate changes in workplace practices accordingly. The Candidate Minimum five years of industrial experience in an OH&S or HSE Advisor role with primary focus on Health and Safety experience. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation in Western Canada is required. Post‑secondary education related to the OH&S or related field is required. Excellent communication, facilitation, investigation and problem‑solving skills. Powerful writing, communication and documentation skills are required. Excellent computer skills. Experience with safety programs to a minimum COR equivalent. Strong auditing experience. Strong team member and self‑starter. Valid Class 5 driver's license & vehicle. Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is considered an asset. Willing to travel up to 25%.
