Directly responsible to the shift Supervisor of Fabrication/Packing. Communicates and collaborates with the other team leads & department supervisors to keep orders on time. Functionally responsible with all members of the fabrication & packing teams concerning day to day fabrication & packing activities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure all team members are working safely & report any unsafe conditions or incidents to shift supervisorStart each shift on time and ensure all team members are presentEnsure all team members are assigned jobs at shift start and throughout the shiftFollow the fabrication and packing WIP reports each shift by due dateEnsure all team members are performing quality checks / inspection as requiredOversee staging of material according to the required location, re stock, Fab, packing, shipping, shunt, etcOversee that all team members are following specific instructions according to customer requirementsEnsure accuracy and completeness of Epics entries for all team members, highlighting variancesEnsure QA receives samples for outside testingNotify scheduling and shift supervisor of incomplete ordersNotify shift supervisor of significant scrap during your shiftResponsible for reporting equipment malfunction to shift supervisor or maintenance team directlyEnsure the saws are being run in a safe and efficient mannerResponsible for ensuring run rates are adhered to as outlined by the work order - if run rates are not able to be met, immediately notify shift supervisorEnsure blades are making effective cuts and pieces are adhering to standardsWhen operating the punch press, ensure drawings are carefully followed and validate setups are correctParticipate in shift handovers and communicate any issues, priorities, etcEnsure pull stock orders are filled from correct stock order numbers according to FIFOPromote continuous cross-training and process improvement with-in teamEnsure compliance to all quality & safety related policies, procedures and system requirementsParticipate in annual employee reviewsPerform other related duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/ExperiencePost-secondary education preferred, Grade 12 mandatory3-5 years production experience in an industrial environment2 years of experience in a lead hand role would be considered an assetTechnical Skills/CompetenceUnderstanding of measurements, tolerances, basic geometry, and numeracy comprehensionForklift certificate is an assetMust have good team building and motivational skillsShould have a good command of English, written and oral1-2 years of production and/or fabrication machining experience is an assetWe offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package that goes beyond base pay, supporting your health, growth, and long-term success:BenefitsProfit SharingHealth & DentalHealth Care Spending AccountEducation Assistance ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Company EventsFloater DaysPaid HolidaysShift PremiumsAnnual safety footwear reimbursement programThe expected pay range for this position is $23.00-$27.00 per hour.
