Reports to:Senior Human Resources DirectorDesignation:Full-TimePOSITION SUMMARY The HR Business Partner reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources and provides strategic and operational HR support to assigned departments within the Tsuut’ina Nation. This position serves as a trusted advisor to management and staff, offering guidance and expertise across all areas of human resources. The HR Business Partner is responsible for administering, interpreting, and contributing to the development of HR policies, procedures, and programs that support departmental and organizational goals. The incumbent will proactively identify and address workforce needs, promote employee engagement, and ensure compliance with applicable legislation and Nation policies. This role requires a high level of professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while providing exceptional service to employees and leadership.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTalent Management – develop and maintain workforce plans by identifying current and future talent needs. Implement workforce plans by assisting with sourcing, recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and developing employees. Collaborate with Managers and the Lead Recruiter to identify current and future staffing needs, and create targeted recruitment strategies. Coordinate offers of employment, onboarding, and required training or orientation. Enhance the Nation’s reputation as an employer of choice by contributing to the development of the organization’s employer brand and value proposition. Administer, interpret, and develop policies and programs that support talent management activities. Participate in the development and administration of the organization’s classification, compensation, and benefits programs.Organizational Effectiveness – analyze and assess departmental and organizational challenges, providing timely and informed recommendations. Maintain a proactive understanding of emerging trends in human resources, including legislative, regulatory, and sectoral developments, and assess potential impacts. Foster employee engagement, commitment, and motivation.Employee Relations – provide guidance and advice to Managers and staff regarding Nation policies, procedures, employment standards, and related legislation. Support and advise Managers on performance management, progressive discipline, and employee grievance matters. Oversee the termination process. Investigate workplace incidents and recommend appropriate actions.Training and Development – identify organizational and departmental learning priorities, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver effective training and development opportunities. Support employee growth and professional development. Evaluate training and development programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals and measure their effectiveness.HR Department Processes and Projects – process employee documentation, including new hires, transfers, and terminations. Compile and analyze HR data, reports, and metrics in collaboration with HR Assistants. Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of HR programs, projects, and initiatives.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSDesired Education, Knowledge and Experience:Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field.CHRP designation is an asset.Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in Human Resources is an asset.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Personal Attributes:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational, time management, and employee relations skills.Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.Reliable, diplomatic, and able to maintain confidentiality.Ability to adapt to changing priorities, and work independently.General Employment Requirements:Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.Willingness to travel as required.Criminal Record Check.Oath of Confidentiality.NOTE:Please note that this organization adheres to Sections 1 - 9 of the Aboriginal Employee Preference Policy for selection and displacement.#J-18808-Ljbffr
