Overview Reporting to and working closely with the Human Resources Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for providing general HR departmental leadership support, overseeing operational activities for all functional HR duties including training and development, employee engagement, employment standards, payroll, labour relations and being the champion for guiding company policies. The HR Team lead will play a critical role in administering and implementing a range of human resources related functions. Responsibilities Contributing to the development and implementation of Human resources departmental plans, goals, and objectives. Sourcing, recommending, and coordinating training sessions for groups as required. Providing training and information sessions to frontline leaders on various HR related matters and researching funding opportunities for a variety of training programs. Providing trend analysis reports and recommendations to the Human Resources Manager on a variety of Human Resource related topics. Actively participating and supporting the Human Resources Manager in renegotiations of Collective Agreements and building a positive labour relations environment between leadership teams and union partners. Providing leadership and counsel to frontline leaders regarding the interpretation of Collective Agreements and legislative requirements when needed. Approving payroll and making any necessary corrections as it relates to payroll based on collective agreements and Company policies and procedures requirements. Assumes a leading role in the implementation and oversight of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), in its entirety. Qualifications A degree in Business Administration or a related field of study or 3-5 years equivalent Human Resources Generalist experience and training. Chartered Professionals in Human Resources designation (CPHR) or working towards designation would be an asset. Must be committed to attaining CPHR designation. Experience with payroll and benefit programs. Certification with the National Institute would be considered an asset. (PCP or CPM Designation). Display Leadership skills, self-direction, and proactive qualities. Possess a high level of integrity and work ethic. Effective communication skills; including strong facilitation practices and clear verbal & written communication. High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allows one to work effectively in a diverse environment. Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
