This position can be based in either our Burnaby or Edmonton office.The Senior Casualty Claims Adjuster is responsible for handling a range of casualty claims, from minor to complex, including residential and commercial liability, bodily injury and property damage, auto bodily injury, and products and completed operations liability.This role involves delivering a high level of customer service throughout the claims process, including thorough investigation, coverage evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of claims within policy terms and in accordance with Claims Manual guidelines.The Adjuster will also provide guidance to independent adjusters and legal counsel as required throughout the claims lifecycle.Main ResponsibilitiesDetermine coverage, and investigate, negotiate, and settle claimsMaintain timely and effective communication with insureds, third parties, adjusters, and legal counsel to ensure fair and equitable settlementsCommunicate clearly and concisely with all involved partiesParticipate in mediations, hearings, and trials (occasional travel may be required)Stay current on relevant case law and coverage trendsMaintain regular communication and information sharing across departments as it relates to riskQualifications and ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in a similar roleStrong analytical and intuitive thinking skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong time management, prioritization, organizational, and planning skillsProven problem-solving abilities; self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating in a team environmentGood working knowledge of the legal and arbitration systemsSolid understanding of anatomy and physiologyCIP designation or equivalent is considered an assetKnowledge of Alberta Auto and Accident Benefits regulations is an assetWhat we offer Optimum Group is a wholly owned Canadian company with international operations.Hybrid work model (3 days in office)Centrally located offices near transitCompetitive compensation packageStrong work-life balance and focus on employee engagement#J-18808-Ljbffr
