Role Overview The Apparel Technical Developer will drive fit and technical acumen of best‑in‑class products in partnership with creative and strategic teams, balancing function, time, cost, and quality while delivering design intent. Core Responsibilities Responsible for fit and execution of mid to high complexity styles from concept through to production readiness. Organize daily workflow that adheres to GTM deliverables & development timelines. Measure and analyze garments to determine compliance of measurements, workmanship, construction direction, and maintain fit intent. Lead fittings and articulate fit or prototype changes and rationale to cross‑functional partners using visual or verbal communication and tools. Efficiently communicate fit comments inclusive of updated style measurements, construction details inline with fit comment SOP to vendors or in‑house team. Create and initiate all subsequent systematic sample requests as required, inclusive of measurements templates. Understand points of measurements library and associated grade rules and recognize when to apply and amend as required. Partner with Product Development to understand risk assessment of styles and create execution plan. Utilize lab test and wear test reports and analysis to adjust execution to mitigate risk of failure. Maintain style data integrity and accuracy in FlexPLM and other relevant systems. Enter and update as required any technical trims in BoM ensuring accuracy before approval (interlining, mobilon) and communicate with Product Development partner. Advance technical knowledge through mentorship and training from Technical Development partners, Pattern Engineers, vendors and in‑house sample room. Support in the creation and maintenance of fit and construction standards and protocols. Drive fit excellence education with cross‑functional peers in category. Mentor Assistants and Juniors as guided by Senior TD & Manager. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience; focused training in Technical Design, Pattern Making, Product Development or relevant experience preferred. 5 – 8 years minimum industry experience (preferably within the Technical Design and/or Technical Development departments). Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop). Proficiency with FlexPLM or similar PLM software. Must Haves Driven by the technical aspect of the product creation process. Attention to detail, initiative, organization, strong verbal & written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks & competing priorities. Working knowledge of fabric, construction, draping, graphic & dye techniques. Proficient at technical communication with vendors via pattern diagrams & fit photos. Substantial knowledge of grading. Strong applied comprehension of end to end product life cycle. Self‑motivated, strong sense of urgency, collaborative mindset. Ability to work and thrive in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional team environment. Excellent time management, organizational & problem‑solving skills. Curiosity for change & learning, capable of managing ambiguity. Working knowledge of Gerber Pattern Making and/or 3D software (CLO, Browzwear) is an asset. Able to conduct fit sessions independently and lead other products as needed. Ability to lift 10kg as needed. Authorization Authorization to work in Canada is required for this role. Relocation is not available. Compensation and Benefits The typical hiring range for this position is from $104,600 – $137,300 CAD annually.
