What Is The Opportunity? The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated joint venture of Aecon and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario. SGRT is a part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064. In addition to the existing contracts for Units 3 and 4, SGRT has been awarded contracts for Units 5, 7, and 8 for steam generator replacements. As a Project Coordinator you will play a key role in providing leadership in managing/supervising construction projects by assisting in the project management and coordination of schedules, manpower, customer relations, engineering, and procurement. Risk analysis; project forecasting, liaising with EPC and subcontractors are daily occurrences in this position. The Project Coordinator reports to the Field Engineering Manager. Following the Project Manager’s review of the project estimate, budget, commercial and the technical review of the project, the Project Coordinator directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering and construction requirements within the scope of a specified project. What You’ll Do Here Create Construction Work Packages for assigned scope of work Provide status reports of project milestones and adjustments to schedules Control expenditures within the limitations of the project budget Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, turnover documents, etc. Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications Coordinate activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems Evaluate and recommend design changes, specifications and drawing releases Interface with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met Provide status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management Assist and monitor safety programs and statistics as required Write and review purchase specifications and subcontract documents Coordinate all site procurement activities including validation of material specifications, preparation of purchase requisitions, material tracking and ensuring traceability of materials when installed in the field Active involvement in quality assurance with regards to understanding and implementing policies and procedures Provide estimating and project management back‑up as required Perform such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor/manager Develop and write reports, business correspondence Other duties as assigned What You Bring To The Team Post‑secondary school education in Civil Engineering or Construction Management disciplines; or an acceptable combination of education and previous experience A minimum of 1–3 years working as a Project Coordinator or equivalent role, ideally in a project engineering or EPC environment (co‑op placement experience will be considered) Proficiency with software related to the construction industry as required (e.g. Primavera Scheduling software, AutoCAD, SAP, etc.) Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Excellent analytical and organizational skills Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Reason for vacancy: Replacement Salary range: $70,000–$85,000 Aecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
