The Opportunity As part of Maple Leaf Food’s Finance team, the SG&A SFA is responsible for reporting and analysis of selling, general, and admin (SG&A) costs and manufacturing centralized costs. Success in this position will be achieved by consistently demonstrating strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, organizational skills, attention to detail and the Maple Leaf values. The above base salary reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, education, training, job‑related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part‑time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours. Snapshot of a Day in the Life Improve manual operational processes by identifying inefficiencies, proposing effective automation solutions, and implementing changes that streamline workflows and enhance overall performance. Support SG&A and Centralized budgeting process: assisting with cost‑center budget build‑up, consolidation and analysis of submissions, supporting the calculation of SG&A and centralized allocation models, and uploading into financial systems. Participate in monthly close process for SG&A and Centralized: preparing Blackline journal entries, creating variance analysis reports, validation reports, preparing monthly spend & headcount reports, and account reconciliations. Support creation of periodic forecasts by working with functional teams to understand variances and corrective action plans where needed. Provide valuable insights, advice and recommendations based on historical trends and future modelling. Provide support on special projects and strategic initiatives. Conduct regular and additional ad‑hoc analysis and reporting as required. Support internal and external audits. What You’ll Bring 3–5 years of finance experience. Post‑secondary degree or diploma in accounting or finance discipline. Professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) and/or sound knowledge of accounting principles. Exposure to an SAP environment would be an asset. Proven ability to analyse issues, think strategically and develop resourceful solutions. Well‑organised, with strong prioritisation skills allowing the management of multiple competing tasks. Strong and effective communication skills and the ability to interact well with all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to continuously improve processes and deliver on planned objectives. Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel) skills and strong system skills preferably in SAP.
