Overview Our Learning and Development team is growing! Are you looking for a role where you can help build components of this brand-new position and drive CNL’s learning and development ambition? As the Talent Development Manager you will develop, implement, and oversee talent programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance to support CNL’s strategy and business ambition. Can you strategically align talent management programs that connect and integrate key HR/business activities—such as workforce planning and succession planning—to build our human capital for the future? Will you collaborate with leadership to develop experiences that build capabilities for frontline, emerging, and executive leaders? What you will be doing Leadership Define our leadership profile and develop leaders who will take us into the future. Define leadership capabilities and skill sets. Identify leadership attributes and experience streams. Build, deploy, and manage leadership programs. Talent Management Establish a talent management strategy that ensures we understand our workforce and can move the right people at the right time. Create a talent management approach. Build talent programs that integrate key HR programs, such as succession planning, and best practices. Create a capabilities inventory. Coaching & Mentoring Transform the perception of coaching in CNL and equip people with skills to hold empowering conversations. Articulate coaching capabilities and define the coaching process. Build a coaching program, support tools, and metrics. Define, build, and run a mentor program and its metrics. People Development Maximize bench strength to build the workforce of tomorrow. Translate strategy into skill requirements across the organization. Assess current skills, identify gaps, and determine future skill requirements. Build programs to close gaps with a focus on career pathing. Other duties as assigned by your manager. What we are looking for Education Post‑secondary graduation in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Behavioural Science, Business, Communications or Education. APTD, CPTD, adult education, L&D qualification or coaching accreditation as assets. Experience Minimum five years leading a Talent Management environment or ten years of management in a technical and talent‑related field. Experience building talent development programs and leading change initiatives. Experience in HR functions, resource planning, recruitment, succession planning, and career development is desirable. Experience in the nuclear industry or highly regulated environment is an asset. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership to manage a program team. Experience influencing skills to drive change. Performance consulting and providing solutions that meet business and learner needs. Relationship management to build an integrated network of experts and stakeholders. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills for multiple concurrent projects. Excellent oral, written and presentation communication. Flexibility, resilience and adaptability under tight schedules. Knowledge of processes for managing high‑performance teams. Application of adult learning principles to elevate talent program design. Integration of coaching and mentoring principles for sustainment. Knowledge of Talent Management technology and platforms is an asset. Security Clearance Eligibility Required Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC) and a minimum of 3‑5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States or United Kingdom, in accordance with Treasury Board standards. Working Conditions Five days per week, seven and a half hours per day for a thirty‑seven and a half hour week. Benefits Paid time off: vacation, sick, personal, and floater days.
