This role plays a critical part in driving business growth by identifying opportunities, addressing technical challenges, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process. The Application Engineer collaborates closely with Field Sales Engineers, Sales Managers, and Product Specialists to develop value propositions for customers, assist with distributor and OEM strategies, and contribute to business expansion. Key Responsibilities Maintains an expert-level understanding of Dodge products, supporting product launches and ensuring the sales team has the technical knowledge needed to drive customer engagement. Performs engineering calculations to support product selection and provides technical recommendations. Works closely with Account Managers, participates in customer visits to present value propositions, resolve technical issues, and facilitate profitable business growth. Contributes to bid generation and coordinates efforts for large project proposals. Conducts technical product training sessions for end customers, channel partners, and internal teams, ensuring stakeholders understand product applications and benefits. Analyzes market requirements, identifies product portfolio gaps, and communicates competitive insights effectively. Cross-Functional Collaboration Works with internal teams—including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Logistics—to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction before and after sales. Provides input on product enhancements and process improvements. Customer Relationship Management Builds and maintains strong professional relationships with the Field Sales Team, distributors, and OEMs, acting as a trusted advisor and aligning customer needs with Dodge's product offerings and market strategies. Required Qualifications A bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related technical field is preferred. 5–10 years of experience/knowledge of Dodge/RBC Products. Proven experience in customer service, sales support, or a related role. Bilingual in French & English is a plus. Strong proficiency in using SAP, quoting tools, and other relevant software applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑focused approach. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Detail‑oriented with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and documentation. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Physical Requirements Extended periods of sitting at a workstation. Speaking in person and over the telephone or Teams online, and the ability to hear, comprehend, and document detailed information from others. Ability to type, reach, and grasp. Intermittent standing and walking within the office environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing for extended periods over the phone and in person. Occasional lifting or carrying objects weighing less than 10 lbs. Willingness to travel as needed to support sales teams and customer engagements.
