A well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in the Fraser Valley is looking to appoint aSenior Structural Engineerto lead and grow their Structural Engineering function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced structural engineer who enjoys a mix oftechnical leadership, project delivery, and team development . The successful candidate will take ownership of the structural department, overseeing project delivery and mentoring junior staff while maintaining a hands-on role in design. The majority of projects will beresidential developments (approximately 80%) , including single-family homes, townhouses, and multi-unit residential buildings, with additional exposure to light commercial and institutional work. The RoleReporting directly to the leadership team, you will play a key role inleading structural engineering services and supporting continued growth of the business . Key responsibilities include: Lead theStructural Engineering department , providing technical oversight and mentorship Manage structural design and analysis for primarilywood-frame residential developments Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, and technical documentation Act asEngineer of Recordon projects where appropriate Coordinate with architects, developers, contractors, and other consultants Support project delivery fromconcept design through construction Provide guidance to junior engineers, EITs, and technologists Assist with improving internal standards, workflows, and QA/QC processes Contribute to client relationships and ongoing project development ProjectsProjects will primarily focus onresidential construction , including: Single-family homes Low- to mid-rise wood-frame buildings Custom residential structures Additional exposure may include: Light commercial and institutional buildings Steel, concrete, and masonry structures Structural retrofits and renovations What We're Looking For8-12+ yearsof structural engineering experience P.Eng. designation in British Columbia(or eligibility) Strong experience withwood-frame residential design Experience withconcrete, steel, or masonry structuresis an asset Proficiency with structural analysis/design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, etc.) Strong understanding ofBC Building Code and local design standards Proven experience reviewing drawings and leading projects Excellent communication and coordination skills Previous experienceleading teams or managing a departmentwould be highly advantageous.
