About This Role A Senior Colour Designer – Men’s at Arc’teryx drives the colour creative process from concept through development across every product in the Men’s collection. This role is based at our North Vancouver office and is performed on site. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.Meet Your Future Team The Colour & Graphics Team is a hub that links the product design and visual merchandising process with the guest experience. We balance creativity, design, process, and logistics to ensure the successful execution of the Arc’teryx colour and graphics design philosophy.Core ActivitiesBuilding, coaching and guiding a high‑performing team of colour designers.Coaching and mentoring colour designers in the creative process and overseeing completion of all colour specifications to meet brand aesthetics.Forecasting colour direction for product collections and collaborating to create cross‑category cohesiveness that exceeds industry expectations.Creating palettes that embrace sociological insights, global trends, current colour harmony tendencies and regional preferences while maintaining the Arc’teryx essence.Collaborating with designers to create innovative, efficient new products that are feasible within a manufacturing environment.Collaborating with Merchandising to establish seasonal continuance strategies, retail store flow plans and regional assortments.Driving colour merchandising concepts through optimal outfit coordination, article assortment aesthetics and cross‑merchandising strategies.Consulting on products across Veilance and Special Projects categories.Delivering commercial colour assortments that meet article‑efficiency targets by analysing metrics and insights from sales, forecasting and product‑line management.Optimising colour design across an extensive raw‑material matrix to ensure successful textile applications.Managing the colour lifecycle of products to balance timelines and the creative process.Building a network of external industry contacts specialised in colour creative development.Establishing best practices to increase efficiency and colour quality assurance across the development process.Future OpportunitiesCreating and presenting the colour vision for evergreen and seasonal collections.Partnering with Design on palettes, styles and graphic development.Collaborating with Visual Merchandising and Merchandising to enhance guest experience and flow.Working with Supply Chain on logistical frameworks and process.Sharing seasonal direction with Brand and Commercial teams.QualificationsAn apparel design diploma or equivalent experience.7+ years’ experience in colour and fashion, with 2+ years in team leadership.Demonstrated extraordinary sense for colour harmony.Extensive knowledge of colour theory.Superior level of colour acuity.Understanding of diverse materials and curiosity to learn technical capacities and limitations.Experience in line development.Proved ability to deliver successful commercial collections.Awareness of Arc’teryx products and their applications.Advanced capabilities in the Adobe suite.Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to translate ideas visually, written and verbally.Understanding of retail buying and line‑development processes.Knowledge of manufacturing timelines.Ability to adhere to critical path and deadlines.Proactive and creative problem solver.Strong attention to detail.Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills.Strong awareness of global markets and cultural differences.Compensation The salary range for this role is CAD$108,000 – CAD$142,000.Total Rewards Most new team members join between the start and midpoint of the range, where you can contribute right away while continuing to grow your craft, collaborations and impact at Arc’teryx.
