Icarus Aero (iAERO) is a certified Transport Canada Design Approval Organization (DAO No. 17-O-02) specializing in aircraft design, modification, and certification across fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms (FAR 23, 25, 27, and 29). We deliver mission-critical solutions for EMS, military, law enforcement, SAR, and special mission operations. We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Analyst to play a key technical leadership role within our engineering team. Role Description The Senior Structural Analyst will lead and execute complex structural substantiation activities, with a strong focus on fatigue and damage tolerance (DT). This role requires deep technical expertise, certification experience, and the ability to interface directly with regulatory authorities (TCCA/FAA/EASA) and internal DAO delegates. You will take ownership of structural analysis for major modification programs, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to strategic technical direction. Key Responsibilities Lead structural analysis activities for aircraft modifications, repairs, and new product development Perform and oversee: Static strength analysis / Fatigue and damage tolerance (DT) analysis / Crack growth and inspection interval development Develop certification strategies and ensure compliance with: TCCA, FAA, and EASA airworthiness requirements / FAR/CS 23, 25, 27, and 29 regulations Author and approve: Structural substantiation reports / Compliance documentation for STC, RDA, and PDA approvals Provide technical leadership in: Design reviews / Cross-disciplinary engineering integration. Interface directly with: Regulatory authorities / DAO/DER representatives / Customers and partners Guide and mentor junior and intermediate engineers Support and oversee: Structural test programs (static, fatigue, and qualification testing) / Correlation of FEA models with test data Contribute to: Process improvements / Standardization of analysis methodologies Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering 8–12+ years of experience in aircraft structural analysis Extensive experience in: Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (DT) analysis / Crack growth analysis (NASGRO, AFGROW, or equivalent) Strong working knowledge of: Metallic and composite aircraft structures / Load paths, stress distribution, and failure modes Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.) Demonstrated experience with: Certification programs (STC, RDA, PDA) / Regulatory compliance (TCCA, FAA, EASA) Ability to independently develop and defend: Structural analysis methodologies / Certification approaches Preferred Qualifications Experience working within a DAO, DER, or ODA environment Experience with paragraphs 337, 341, 561, 571, 573 etc. Advanced knowledge of: Composite structures and bonded joints / Inspection program development and MSG-3 principles Previous experience in a technical lead or mentorship role #J-18808-Ljbffr
