Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Construction / Renovation Estimator role based in Red Deer, AB. The Estimator is responsible for reviewing project plans, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed quotations for residential and commercial construction and renovation projects. Day-to-day tasks include performing quantity takeoffs, sourcing and obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing, and preparing labor, material, and equipment cost breakdowns. The role includes visiting job sites to assess scope, risks, and constructability, as well as collaborating with project managers and supervisors to align estimates with scheduling and resource planning. The Estimator also updates and maintains estimating templates, tracks actual project costs versus estimates, and supports change orders, budget reviews, and client proposals. Qualifications Strong renovation / construction estimating abilities, including quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and budgeting for residential and commercial renovation projects. Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and standard office tools; ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Solid understanding of building materials, construction methods, trades, and local codes and permitting requirements. Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines. Clear written and verbal communication skills for preparing proposals and collaborating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple estimates and priorities simultaneously. Experience working in construction, renovation, or a related trade; site experience is an asset. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites in and around Red Deer, AB.
