Overview As the Vice President, Store Development, you will be responsible for the development of all Arc’teryx North America stores within Canada and the United States. You will oversee all aspects of store development for our NAM retail locations, including store design, construction, lease administration, and acquisition/assessment. You will ensure that expectations are set to ensure quality, timelines and budget, and analyze new lease commitments to confirm accuracy and competitiveness. You are accountable for expansion plans into strategic locations, current location optimization and relocations, ensuring the success of new locations and ongoing success in each region as we grow. Location scouting, real estate, lease agreement and new store opening functions will require hands‑on leadership as we navigate new communities within North America. Key Responsibilities Developing and leading a team to execute a market‑driven store development strategy aligned with brand vision and growth objectives, while ensuring decisions reinforce premium brand positioning and elevated consumer experiences. Partnering with North America Retail leadership to translate market needs and readiness into a long‑term prioritization and strategy, while leading a team to successfully execute. Creating long‑term market expansion plans including new stores, relocations, and remodels, including site selection, lease negotiations, and portfolio optimization. Working closely with merchandising, operations, and brand teams to ensure store development supports customer experience goals. Ensuring compliance with local regulations, permitting, and construction standards. Fostering a high‑performance culture grounded in accountability and collaboration (aligned with the Arc’teryx Leadership Code). Championing sustainability and responsible construction practices across all markets. Qualifications You have 15 years of experience successfully leading store development for a rapidly growing apparel or lifestyle brand, and you understand the retail landscape, including the latest trends and innovations, and the omni‑channel consumer experience. You bring an unparalleled expertise of North American commercial real estate, and keenly understand the nuances, opportunities and barriers to entry in each major market. You have strong relationship‑building skills and demonstrated success working closely with senior executives and cross‑functional partners to influence strategic agendas, prioritize ROI and operationalize key strategic initiatives. You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions through your growth mindset. You seek the best (not necessarily the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right. You inspire breakthrough thinking and strive for continuous improvement. You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity. You have experience leading large transformational projects. You have well‑developed critical thinking skills and business curiosity, analytical and creative problem‑solving skills and strong ability to work with complex data to drive insights and decisions. Compensation The salary range for this role is USD$224,000 – USD$336,000. Most new team members join between the start and midpoint of the range, where you can contribute right away while continuing to grow your craft, your collaborations, and your impact at Arc’teryx. This range reflects market alignment and the scope of the role. Individual pay is determined by your skills, experience, and level of responsibility.
