Aircraft Level Systems Engineering Professional Senior, Conceptual System Design Responsibilities Lead the development, maintenance, and governance of system-level conceptual design and sizing tools, including the methods, assumptions, parametric models, and analytical frameworks that support early-phase trades and multidisciplinary analysis and optimization (MDAO). Define, mature, and document MBSE methods and model-based processes that support aircraft-level systems engineering, ensuring consistent capture of architecture definitions, conceptual sizing outputs, and early-phase analytical artefacts within MBSE frameworks. Develop and integrate model-based workflows that connect conceptual sizing models with system architecture models, enabling traceable links between early trades, system requirements, functional analyses, and architecture decisions. Create and maintain configuration-controlled system architecture models, including requirements, functional decompositions, interface definitions, assumptions, key drivers, and verification and validation planning artefacts. Facilitate cross-functional activities for requirements elicitation, maturation, decomposition, and validation, ensuring alignment between conceptual design results, system architecture intent, and early requirement allocation. Perform and guide aircraft- and system-level analyses, including trade studies, feasibility assessments, conceptual sizing loops, and MDAO-supported architecture exploration to support Product Integration decision-making. Collaborate closely with the aircraft configuration design team to ensure that conceptual sizing logic, parametric dependencies, and architecture constraints are reflected in early configuration and performance assessments. Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to engineers across disciplines on conceptual design tools, MBSE methods, and optimization workflows, supporting the organization’s shift towards model-based and digital engineering. Qualifications Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering, or a related field, ideally complemented by formal training in Systems Engineering. PhD in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related field is an asset, particularly with focus on aircraft conceptual design, system sizing methods, MDAO, model-based systems engineering, or parametric modelling approaches. Have 7+ years of experience in aircraft or complex-system development, ideally including systems engineering, conceptual design, architecture definition, preliminary sizing, or parametric modelling. Experience in disciplines such as aerodynamics, performance, mechanical/electrical systems, or structures is an advantage. Have hands‑on experience developing and using conceptual design and sizing tools, parametric modelling environments, and early-phase trade study workflows. Solid programming skills using Python, C/C++ or MATLAB are essential. Familiarity with MDAO frameworks or multidisciplinary simulation toolchains is an asset. Experience with CAD environments – Catia or NX – is an advantage. Be proficient with model-based systems engineering, including requirements management, functional analysis, architecture modelling, and traceability. Comfortable with tools such as Cameo, Capella, Rhapsody, and with MBSE languages and methods (SysML, UAF, OOSEM, Arcadia, etc.). Be familiar with requirements and PLM ecosystems (Teamcenter, DOORS, Jama, Polarion, etc.) and understand how early-phase analyses and assumptions must flow into configuration-controlled environments. Have strong scripting and automation skills, especially for connecting models, automating parametric studies, building data pipelines, or linking conceptual design tools with MBSE artefacts. Have experience with system or technical simulation, parametric studies, or performance analysis. Exposure to optimization methods, surrogate modelling, or sensitivity analysis is an asset. Be curious, open‑minded, and proactive, comfortable exploring new methods, experimenting with modelling approaches, and driving the adoption of model-based workflows across the organization. Bringing strong analytical and systems‑thinking skills, with the ability to structure complex problems and maintain clarity across disciplines. Be passionate about innovating engineering – and aerospace technology in particular – and motivated by long-term goals. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and naturally tailor your message to suit the audience. Experience teaching or coaching is an asset. Communicate technical concepts, project status and risks clearly and succinctly to stakeholders at all organizational levels. Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Bombardier is an equal opportunity employer and encourages persons of any race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, immigration status, disability or other applicable legally protected characteristics to apply. #J-18808-Ljbffr
